So I watched the movie and I liked it. It was kinda corny but I liked the take away message in the end. One quote that stuck out to me is a saying. about men who chase mistresses cool off real quick when the mistress starts acting like more like a wife. I can't relate to it much but I understand that men never stop chasing or looking after the woman who is more prettier and younger than you ever marriage. But yeah and the grandma was funny.

Society even encourages this behavior, since it’s more frequently being seen as acceptable for a 60 year old man to be with a 20 year old girl. If my daughter was with someone that old when she’s so young, I’d kick that old pervs ass! Men do absolutely whatever they think they can get away with; if they could stick it in a little girl and know they’d get no repercussions, they’d do it constantly with no remorse or even a second thought. They have no internal moral compass.

It's a fun movie and very depressing at once. The book is even darker, I think - and the orignal British film, where Mary Fisher dies of cancer and Ruth never develops into her own person, she gets plastic surgery to look like her.
At the same time: she kind of ruins her kids' lives in multiple ways, not to mention gets their father sent to jail....I watched it as a kid and didn't understand why that was so shitty.
Anyway I'm tempted to read the book. There's a sequal too but it sounds like shit.

She-Devil and Fried Green Tomatoes (have you watched this one?) were so good.
I haven't seen fried green tomatoes but I would like to watch it
Definitely do. Lot's of fun and lessons in that. Idgie was who fueled my restless brazen nature as a youth.
