All the people on the FYP page are 10/10 and tiktok has drastically helped to end the era of body positivity. People are coping less and less which means it's gonna get harder for femcels since they're more likely to be blunt in their observations. All these beauty orientated trends too. Ugh.

I'll never understand why people downloaded this app in first place. It's from the CCP, it's clearly manipulative, it has a fucked up lookist algorithm that deliberately pushes pretty people on top, its data security is absolutely fucked, even more than western applications like Facebook or Google and those are already fucked.
Nope, I will never get it. I remember ads about this app when it used to be musically or whatever and had a chinese name, I was just thinking to myself like what trash ass ad is this and why do people pay attention? Skip forward 5 years later and it's the no.1 social media app.
/also on a sidenote. Since it originates from east asia (China), you definitely have a point about people coping less and less and being more blunt in their conversations. I used to be a hardcore kpop fan from 2007 to roughly 2016 and let me tell you, I wish this specific cultural aspect of east asian culture WASN'T spread worldwide. They're clearly too brutally honest and judgemental when it comes to the way you look, it's borderline psychotic to me.
I'm a kpop fan too and I've look a lot into south korean culture over the years. I used to follow SK influencers too and all of the girls looked like they were starving themselves to be petite, had tons of work done too. They all looked good and even, when I was visiting Seoul everyone was Becky or above bc you're just not allowed to be ugly or people make fun of you. Not excited at the spread of this mentality.

It's a Chinese app that was for a long time under the control of CCP. It banned LGBTQ content in Arabic countries and deprioritized black creators in the US. It probably sent a bunch of data about American citizens to CCP. That should have told you enough about this app and its user base.
